Long time no blog! I’ve been a very busy girl. Last weekend, my Auntie Jordan came to visit me and Mommy in DC. Auntie insisted on taking me to Petsmart so I could pick out a toy! And I picked the bestest, most expensivest bully spiral…it is so awesome that it makes me salivate just thinking about it. Mommy said it was too expensive for something I would chew to shreds within a couple hours, but Auntie Jordan knows what’s important in life (food)…that’s cause she’s a Chang, just like me!

I also got to meet Auntie Kaley, who’s not my auntie by blood (she has BLONDE hair!) and Uncle Eric (he looks like he could actually be my uncle, but he’s not). Auntie Kaley brought me a turtle EGG BABY, which has squeaky eggs stuffed inside its belly (have I mentioned how much I love things that squeak?).

It was a million degrees outside and the mean waiters were trying to make Mommy tie me outside of the patio while they had frozen margarita/sangria swirls, but she took a page out of my book and puppy eyes’d them into letting me stay on her lap.
Then on Sunday, Auntie Jordan went back to NYC, and Mommy and I drove back down to Durham with all of our stuffs! We are busy unpacking and getting ready for our weekend at the lake with Grandmama, Grandpapa, and maybe even Great Grandmama/papa. This is all very exciting, except Mommy is now insisting that I get my first mini-groom for the occasion. She says I look scraggly, and that my nails are too long, but I beg to differ.
My humans took me on a picnic today at the park! I wasn’t allowed off the blankets except to pee because of the threat of parvovirus (everyone thinks my mom is cuhrazy), but I had fun nonetheless!
I was pretty sure mommy was leaving for work this morning, so I thought it best to cry VERY loudly. But when she came back 5 minutes later, I decided that I needed a better strategy… and settled on burrowing under her covers and refusing to move my head from her lap until I had puppy eyes’ed her into working from home (at least for a few hours). Beneath this cuddly exterior lies an EVIL GENIUS!!
Andrew’s sister, Melanie, and her Maltipoo, Ziggy, have been coming over the past two days to have puppy play time! Riley and Ziggy have been getting along fabulously!!
We were packing up to go for brunch this weekend and Riley tried to jump in after her treats (Don’t worry, we didn’t actually take her anywhere in the bag!).
This is pretty much how we spent our first weekend with Riley…hanging out on the deck with some beer and enjoying the lovely weather!
Little Riley joined us on Friday after a long journey from Southern California. She was a great little travel buddy, and has been adjusting to her new life quite well. She is the cutest puppy ever, and we get stopped all the time when we are out and about!
Riley’s amazing breeder just sent over a new picture of Riley (at 11ish weeks). Poor tired puppy! I can’t wait to have cuddle/nap time on the couch with this sweetheart.
XO,
Sydney
